Altare

2024
Installation, ceramics.

A daily altar, where, day after day, fragments of Vanessa’s artistic research are placed.
A space of reflection on her practice — made of ceramics, writings, wax, and found or crafted objects gathered throughout the year. It is an intimate environment, dedicated to observing the artist’s inner path: a journey shaped by investigations, rituals, and practices that accompany the development of a project.
The predominant material is clay (white earthenware, semi-refractory clay, and stoneware), worked mainly on the potter’s wheel, in slabs, or using casting techniques. This altar holds an accumulation of pieces created during recent months of research — a process focused on material exploration, wheel practice, second-fire experiments, and the transformation of glazes and crystals.
